I am an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Certified Therapist in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is an effective form of psychotherapy which helps people naturally and efficiently resolve symptoms and emotional distress resulting from disturbing experiences and trauma. I have been using EMDR for over 20 years, since my initial training in 1995. Please refer to http://www.emdr.com/what-is-emdr or EMDRIA.org for more information.
In addition to EMDR therapy, I provide individual and group consultation for psychotherapists seeking EMDR certification or to further develop their skills. I have three monthly ongoing, supportive and informative EMDR consultation groups which have been meeting for over three years. You have the freedom to decide when you’re ready to start and to stay as long as you choose.
I have extensive training in DNMS. The Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy is a safe, nurturing approach to identifying and healing the deepest aspects of self that keep us stuck in unwanted behaviors, beliefs and emotions. As healing progresses, a wide range of psychological, behavioral and relational symptoms and issues diminish naturally. Please refer to DNMSInstitute.org for more information.
My training in Brainspotting allows me to use this treatment approach to tap into the body’s innate ability to heal, in order to resolve trauma, negative beliefs and emotional distress.
I am a Master Addiction Counselor with the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals, and have had a Certificate of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and Other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders from the American Psychological Association since 1996. I specialize in addictions of all types, including eating disorders. I am able to help individuals, couples and families find freedom from the pain, chaos and trauma of addictive behaviors; whether you are the one directly caught in the downward spiral of addiction, or dealing with the effects as a family member or loved one.
I am able to use hypnosis in addition to my other areas of expertise to efficiently resolve distressing symptoms and dysfunctional behaviors.
